I know several friends facing tough problems. Maybe you are facing one too. There are plenty of possibilities. Sickness, diseases, job issues, financial problems, marriage problems. Cancer seems to be everywhere. Big stuff. But the phrase “God is bigger” keeps coming to my mind. And that reminds me of a Veggie Tales song from when my kids were little. . .
It’s a catchy tune, and the chorus sticks with you. . . It talks about God being bigger than the boogeyman man, Godzilla, monsters, etc. Some of the things kids fear.
An Adult Version
But as adults our problems aren’t monsters under the bed or even the “boogeyman”. I wanted an adult version to go with the encouraging catch phrase. And to go with the catchy tune. And then I was inspired to write:
God is bigger than a real bad job.
He’s bigger than your past,
and even cancer too.
Oh, God is bigger than what worries you.
And He’s watching out for you and me.
Yes, God is bigger than your current mess
He’s bigger than your problem,
or anything that you face.
Oh, God is bigger than what stresses you.
And He’s watching out for you and me.
Don’t Forget
Sometimes we forget, the God who created everything is all powerful. Jeremiah 32:17 says “Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.” And there’s Ephesians 3:20, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us”.
Just like Veggie Tales is telling the kids, we need to be reminded – God can handle it. Nothing is too big for Him. He knows what you’re going through and He’s right there with you.
